Credentials:

Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan, I received a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary, Detroit Extension in May of 1997, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University was earned in June of 1971, The National Board for Counselor Certification exam was passed in October of 1998, Co-founder of Hope Counseling Service in 1997

Specialties:

I specialize in relational and communication skills. As co-founder of Hope Counseling Service in 1997 I have worked with many people, helping them to achieve a better quality of life. As life coach, I assist in helping people use their assets/abilities in the most productive and beneficial ways.

Why would anyone want to seek me out for counseling or coaching?

  • I have 14 years experience as counselor and life coach.
  • I have 65 years of life experience.
  • I meet weekly with my fellow counselors at Hope Counseling Service for accountability, uplifting inspiration and information.
  • I believe that counseling and coaching are worthy and honorable pursuits.
  • I believe that a person can overcome many obstacles by learning what to do with those obstacles and how to approach them. It's like taking a test, if you don't know much about the subject, how can you expect to pass the test?
  • I believe that when a person is armed with knowledge and truth positive changes can take place.
  • I believe in honesty, in telling the truth in love.
  • I take each person seriously and respect his/her confidence.
  • I am ethical.
  • I specialize in relational and communication skills.
  • As life coach, I assist in helping people use their assets/abilities in the most productive and beneficial ways.

I hear Christians say that if you have faith than that should be enough. In Proverbs it says that a wise person seeks out good counsel and listens to it. I have seen good Christian people suffer because they have gotten the idea that talking to a counselor/coach shows a lack of faith. We all need to talk to someone and friends can be well meaning but not as helpful as a person who has been trained in Biblical counseling such as the counselors of Hope Counseling Service.
